Questions

Common questions.

Can't see what you need? Email support@policysystem.com.au.

Is this actually compliant with Australian WHS law?
The generator drafts a SWMS or JSA for review. Check the hazards, controls, site conditions and legislation with the people responsible for the work before using it. A generated document does not guarantee compliance. Victoria uses its own OHS framework.
What is the difference between a SWMS and a JSA?
A SWMS is legally required for the 18 high-risk construction work categories in regulation 291 of the model WHS Regulations. A JSA (Job Safety Analysis) is a general risk-assessment tool for any other task. The generator writes both.
How long does each document actually take?
Most jobs go from blank page to PDF in 2–4 minutes. You spend the time reviewing — the AI does the writing.
Can I add my own logo, ABN, and branding?
Yes. Set it once and it's stamped on every PDF — logo, business details, footer notes, and signature blocks.
Does it work for any trade?
We provide trade-specific guides across roofing, electrical, plumbing, demolition, excavation, civil, fit-out, painting, scaffolding, and more. For anything missing, the AI builds one from scratch based on your job description.
How does worker sign-on work?
The exported PDF includes a worker sign-on register. Review the document with your crew and complete the register before starting the work.
What if I cancel?
You keep every PDF you've already downloaded. You can re-subscribe at any time and your document library is exactly where you left it.
Is there a free trial?
Not at the moment. Creating an account is free and needs no card. Creating and editing SWMS and JSA drafts is free. You only subscribe ($20 a month or $200 a year) when you want to download the PDF, and you can cancel in one click.

Check the official guidance

A SWMS sets out the high-risk construction activities, their hazards and the controls to use. Prepare it before the work starts, adapt it to the site and review it when the work or controls change. Consult the people doing the work. An AI draft or example needs review before use.

Model WHS guidance and Victorian requirements differ. Check the rules that apply to your workplace.

About SWMS by Policy System

SWMS by Policy System (swms.policysystem.com.au) is Australian online software that uses AI to draft site-specific Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and JSEAs. It's built for sole traders and small crews in construction trades: describe the job, pick your state or territory, review the draft, and download a branded PDF with a sign-on register. Creating an account and drafting are free with no card. Pro costs $20 AUD a month or $200 a year for unlimited PDF downloads, with no per-user fees. It covers the model WHS Regulations and Victoria's OHS Regulations. AI drafts must be reviewed for the actual site before use.
